God gives us all talents and abilities. There not are the same, that would make life. We are not called to hide them under a bushel and keep them to our self God gave us talents to fellowship with and testify of Him. Our talents are as unique as we are. Some people seam to have many talents, while others may only have one or two. It is easier to get jealous of other people's talents. We tend to think we're not important as others. My husband can talk as well as anyone. People who meet him on the street sometimes ask him to talk in his "radio" to make sure he is who he say he is. His minor in college was speech. (I didn't realize it until just now how ironic it is that he married someone with a speech impediment:)) Anyway, I can pray and want all day but I'll probably never be a radio talk show host ~ that's just not my calling. But I can can write about God; (which he's a better writer than me). I can pray for and encourage others. ect. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 talks about how the Church is one body made of different parts and how it doesn't work if it doesn't have all the parts. When we envy and want the talents that God has giving others, we're are not being thankful for what He's given us. We're showing a lack of faith and saying "Hey God, you really don't know what You're doing." We are to take the talents that God has given and use them the best way we know how to. In Mathew 25:14-30, Jesus tells a parables of a master who gave three of his servants different amounts of talent. The first two servants increased their talents, but the third buried because he knew how hard the master worked and didn't want to lose his talents. But the master scolded him, said he had wasted his talents and gave them to one of the other servants. Are you wasting the talents God has given you?
